It’s no secret that accessories are a girl’s best friend, but it’s also no secret that the pandemic has had a huge impact on small businesses.  Even though we’re not going anywhere right now, that doesn’t mean we can’t dress up the pyjamas we’ve worn for 3 days in a row! Yes, it’s impressive to wear jeans when you’re working from home, but it’s also impressive to make your sweatsuits extra chic. Here are some of the small jewelry brands that we’ve been loving lately.

Gold N Blooms

A “Bloomer” is defined as someone who  Gold N Blooms is high-quality, yet affordable gold jewelry. Their pieces are super dainty, delicate and make being put together look easy even when you haven’t left the house in 8 months.

After seeing her dad work in the jewellery business for 30+ years (#commitment), Dainty Diamond was started by Jess Fried after she realized he never made an effort to focus on younger generations. Jess knew that when it came to finding affordable gold and silver jewellery, the struggle is most definitely real, and so she launched Dainty Diamond. Jess’s whole outlook is that you don’t need an excuse to wear your jewelry, which is my motto in quarantine.

LIVIE Jewelry

Based in Toronto, LIVIE is an all women-run company that started when founder Jules Beliavski began designing pieces for herself and her friends when she noticed a gap in the market. What makes LIVIE different from other brands is that their main focus are necklaces, or as they like to call them, their LIVIE Layers. The brand has different types of necklaces, such as chains, coin necklaces and more. They’ve also just recently started to create ear stacks to compliment the necklaces, so you can bling yourself out. They believe that it’s all about building your own personal stack and what suits your style! Love that for you!

Shop Emie

A newer brand on the scene, Shop Emie makes all of their pieces in Canada and Italy. Cousins Emily Freeman and Abbie Yermus started Shop Emie as a way to offer a sustainable alternative to the mass-produced jewelry that lines the shelves of many stores today. All of their materials are sustainably sourced and made by local master jewellers, and although this results in a higher price point for some of their pieces, they are committed to following the highest business standards at each step in the process of creating their products. Whoever said not practicing ethical business and making products locally was the new black was seriously disturbed. Shop Emie also specializes in custom made, personalized pieces where they work with clients to bring their ideas and designs to life, so that you can give the best gift to someone special in your life (or yourself…we don’t judge).

Given what’s going on in our world right now, anything we can do to help out small businesses is going to be much appreciated. Whether it’s an existing small business that’s currently going through it, or a totally new business that was born during these Covid times, it’s important that we spread the love and our $$$. And besides, I really don’t think there’s every something as too much jewelry…right?
