It’s safe to say that this is a pretty stressful time for…literally everyone on the planet. Whether you’re working from home all day with your significant other who breathes way too fucking loud, or a college student who is living with their parents instead of their normal degenerate roommates, we’re all feeling the same thing: antsy, bored and stressed as fuck. Not only because of global rising COVID-19 case count numbers, but also with the fact there was almost a coup in the US capitol. It’s like, kind of a lot.

With all the stress, anxiety and nervous energy about this trainwreck on fire of a world we’re finding ourselves in, it’s more important than ever to find a way to get that energy out. Since most, if not all, gyms and fitness studios have closed their doors for the time being, many studios and fitness services have shifted online for the time being. Here’s a roundup of all the ways you can break a sweat while at home for free, avoiding going into the apocalypse we call 2021:

A Sculpt Body

A Sculpt Body is a series of quick, efficient, and effective low-impact online workouts that you can do from home, the office or anywhere on the go. Created by Alessia Scauzillo, all of the workouts are bodyweight only with no equipment needed, so you actually have no excuse to not move your body while you WFH. A Sculpt Body is offering a free-14 day trial on their website.

Dancebody

Dance like no one’s watching (except maybe your dog) with Dance Body’s free 7-day trial. They offer live and on-demand dance based cardio classes, which actually sounds like a party. You can access their classes here.

Melissa Wood Health

Melissa Wood Health has a free 7-day trial of her yoga and pilates-inspired workouts, which is really exciting for us normal people, because I swear that every influencer and celebrity does her workouts. These low-impact, flow-style classes focus on slow and controlled movements, which will leave you feeling long and lean. You can find her classes through her website

Obé Fitness

obé fitness is an immersive online workout experience with energetic instructors that guarantee you’ll get a good workout and have a great time doing it. They’re offering a free 7-day trial, with over 5,000 classes to choose from. Most of their classes are 30 minutes long, so you can fit a workout in before anyone from work gets suspicious. You can access their classes here.

Peloton

Maybe I’m biased because I’m one of those people that are obsessed with their Peloton bikes, but Peloton has to be my favourite workout during quarantine. Even if you don’t have one of their exercise bikes at home, Peloton is offering a 1-month free trial, which can be used for not only their spin classes, but body weight, yoga, barre, pilates and strength training classes. You can find their free trial here

P.Volve

P.volve is a low-impact workout that focuses on activating hard-to-reach muscles with precise movements. You can get 14 days of P.volve free, which gives you access to hundreds of videos that vary in length and area of focus, through their website.

Schvitzscription

As a member of the tribe (being Jewish), the name of this workout platform speaks to be purely because it’s literally sweat in Yiddish. Started by Jordanna Drazin after COVID-19 cost her the job she had lined up for after graduation, the Schvitzscription workouts are perfect for the gal on the go (but where are you going…it’s a pandemic). The classes are available on demand for anytime, anywhere and the workouts are made for schvitzers to feel good in their bodies. Not punish them. The Schvitzscription offers a free 7-day trial, and then $10/month, so you can sweat on a budget. Check out Jordanna’s workouts and get ready to schvitz here

The Belle Bod

The Belle Bod program is based in barre and dance principles, while blending the precision ballet with the power of HIIT and plyometrics. You’ll get tight and toned, even on a time crunch.  They offer a free 14-day trial, with hundreds of different classes to choose from and new workouts added daily. Their total body workouts range in time increments, so if you have 15 or 60 minutes, there’s a class for you. You can access their classes here

This situation is the absolute worst, but at least you’ll get to try out some new home workout apps for free that can keep you busy, active and hopefully get your mind off of the whole world burning outside. Just remember to set 1000 alarms to cancel the free trials on your phone before you get charged.
