Oh, the weather outside is frightful and fucking coldSince achieving Sephora VIB status, I feel like I have become some sort of cult member, and that I just have all of this newfound beauty knowledge that I didn’t have before. Now that winter is already here, my skin has officially lost all of its moisture, and I have def been upping the products that I’ve been using to save my skin in this god-awful weather.

Dr. Barbara Sturm Enzyme Cleanser

I was never good in Science class, and I never really paid attention. Other than learning that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell, I learned that skin cells dehydrate and die out faster in the winter because of being in the cold air outside and the dry indoor heating. You’ll want to clean your pores and exfoliate these dead cells away with an exfoliant. Although it’s on the pricey end, this cleanser provides both a deep yet gentle cleanse and an exfoliation to both hydrate and remove dead skin cells. Isn’t multitasking great?

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

First things first, if you’re not already using moisturizer in your skincare routine, what are you doing??? Secondly, the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream needs to be in your metaphorical (or literal, I don’t know where you keep your skincare) makeup bag. It protects the skin barrier and uses hyaluronic acid to hydrate your skin. I’m going to skip over the science here, but long story short, it helps to keep your skin more youthful which literally everyone wants.

Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum

Drunk Elephant is literally millennial clickbait with its minimal packaging, cute product names, and their clean ethos. However, Drunk Elephant is not just another pretty face. Their hydrating serum is thiccccer than others of its kind, yet still incredibly lightweight. It also visibly replenishes the complexion and improves the look of skin texture and tone, something we all need in the winter.

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

Summer Fridays is one of those brands that actually lives up to the hype. Their products are great, their branding is great, their social media, is great, and their packaging is great. The Jet Lag Face Mask has developed a cult-favourite status since its release and for good reason. This uber0hydrating mask soothes skin by giving it a nourishing mix of vitamins, ceramides, and antioxidants. This mask delivers rich hydration and a more radiant complexion in just one application.  You go, Summer Fridays!

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is like Mary Poppin’s bag – it’s just never ending. Literally, one tub of this lasts for like 80 years. The Lip Sleeping Mask is supposed to be applied at bedtime so that you can wake up to lips that feel refreshed, smoother, and more supple, all of which is perfect for wintertime. I put it on before bed, but I also through throw this on my lips when I want to look like I tried in the morning, Not only does this make my lips look glowy without the sticky lip gloss feeling, it actually does its job and makes my lips feel super soft.

Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Drops

Okay, so this won’t automatically fix dry and cracking skin, but these self-tanning drops will make you look like you just got back from 3 weeks in St. Barth’s, rather than spending 3 weeks in front of your computer watching Netflix indoors. If you’re married to your moisturizer, fear not. Just add these self-tanning drops to your moisturizer for a natural, sunkissed glow. The best part is that these drops actually smell nice and don’t have streaks or orange tones. Using this product will have your coworkers wonder if you took a vacation in between Zoom calls.

Necessaire The Body Lotion

Let’s be honest here. Most people (including you reading this) don’t bother moisturizing the skin below their necks because you hate standing in your bathroom freezing naked and looking like a greased-up Thanksgiving turkey while waiting for your body lotion to sink in. This fragrance-free body lotion dries almost instantly meaning you can wrap yourself up like a burrito while nourishing the skin. This moisturizer contains Vitamins A, B3, C E and Omegas 6 and 9. Didn’t your mom always tell you you take (or in this case, apply) your vitamins?
