If 24 hours ago, you had no idea what a Try Guy or who Ned Fulmer is, but now obviously hate him more than everyone you’ve ever met IRL, you are not alone. Like you, there are so many who are now invested in what could be called the biggest internet drama since the Call Her Daddy breakup, even though a day ago, they didn’t know that anyone involved even existed.

Luckily for all of you who just don’t go on the internet don’t have a crippling addiction to technology and need to be plugged in 24/7 (unlike myself),  I’m here to save the day and fill you in on the all the Try Guys Tea.

Who are the Try Guys?

The Try Guys, consisting of Keith Habersberger, Zach Kornfeld, Eugene Lee Yang and Ned Fulmer met working as video producers at Buzzfeed, when they started a new series in 2014. The idea was pretty simple; nothing was off limits – roller derby, wearing crop tops, getting waxed – you name it, and they will (and probably have already) try it. The four-pack left Buzzfeed in 2018 to form their own production company, 2nd Try.

Each guy has their own personality traits; Eugene was super cool and edgy, Keith ate a lot of food, Zach was charming yet awkward, and Ned’s was that he was a “Wife Guy” – one of those guys who proclaims to anyone with ears that he LOVES HIS WIFE SO MUCH. The term Wife Guy started off as a weird, niche internet meme back in 2016, but is now used to describe a man who religiously and (more importantly) publicly worships his wife.

Seemingly, no part of their lives was off-limits. Viewers met their friends, and loved ones, heard about their most intimate moments, their fears, and their secrets. That sounds like just another day of being my friend, but I digress. The guys’ wives even became part of the brand, aptly named ‘The Try Wives’ (really creative). Their audience became invested in their lives, sharing in their joys, and the not-so-joyful.

And what’s happening now could be classified in the not-so-joyful section to put it lightly.

WTF IS HAPPENING?

Within the last few months, fans had begun to notice that Ned had not appeared in their most recent videos on YouTube, or on their latest Instagram posts. Because internet girlies are better sleuths than the FBI, on Monday night, Reddit users found photos of a couple they claimed to be Ned Fulmer and his employee (YA, YOU READ THAT RIGHT) Alexandria Herring making out at Niagara, a bar in the East Village in NYC. Sure, they thought going to some random club in New York was them being smart, but it was still beyond fucking stupid.

Here’s the kicker: Not only is Ned’s entire brand being a Wife Guy, he is also the father to two sons, AND Alexandria (his producer / side piece) was ENGAGED to a man who she had been with for 10. YEARS.

Within hours, the news blew up faster than your 8th grade science fair volcano.

All of the Try Guys unfollowed Ned from their personal accounts, and from the official brand account. Alexandria’s fiancé has deleted all proof of her from his Instagram (classic breakup move), and Alexandria and Ned have both limited comments on their Instagram’s.

Late yesterday afternoon, The Try Guys released a statement that “following an internal review, Ned Fulmer is no longer working with the Try Guys”. Idk what kind of internal review they had – like, did they just ask their best friend if he was a fuckboy who was having an affair, and he said yes??

Following the Try Guy’s breakup text, Ned himself posted a statement saying that “family should always have been a priority”, but he “lost focus and had a consensual workplace relationship”. This is gives me the same vibes of catching your boyfriend cheating and his response is “so what, it was just a hand job!!!”

Ned’s wife, and absolute queen, Ariel Fulmer released a statement asking for privacy as her and Ned navigate this tough time.

IS THAT ALL?

The answer is no, there’s obviously more drama. As someone who worships at the Synagogue of DeuxMoi, I trust 99.9% of what she posts, and this is no different. Today, Deux posted updates on this saga, and they read as follows:

In December 2021, Alexandria’s fiancé Will went through her phone and saw her and Ned had hooked up while on some work trip. They ended up staying together but Will reached out to Ned warning him to back off.

Beginning of this month, Will and Ned’s wife, Ariel, received videos and pictures (from multiple sources) showing Ned and Alex making out at a club, as well as holding hands during the day.

Ariel had just landed in NYC to meet up with the rest of the Try Guys and their SO’s, but got this news from Will (or elsewhere, this is unknown) and confronted Ned. This is when Ned CONFIRMED that him and Alexandria had been having an affair for NEARLY. A. YEAR. When she heard this, Ariel GTFO’d and got on a plane back to LA, and something happened (everyone else found out), leading Ned and Alexandria to be suspended almost immediately.

When the rest of the Try Guys had talks with employees, many said they had noticed flirting, knew they had lunch hookups and sleepovers, showed up to events together and had big feels something was up. The company has known this for about a month and been sorting it out on their end, but what lead to this all blowing up is that NONE OTHER THAN ALEXANDRIA’S FIANCE LEAKING THE IMAGES ON REDDIT.

Hell hath no fury like a man scorned, am I right?

I’m sure we’ll find out more in the coming days, but this is where we’re at as of now.

Anyways, in the last day, I’ve learned two super important things:

1. Never trust a Wife Guy (especially one from Hollywood).

2. If my boyfriend ever makes loving me or dating me a personality trait, I will know he’s cheating on me. That’s all.
