In a move that no one absolutely everyone saw coming, Kim Kardashian West  filed for divorce today from her husband of nearly seven years, Kanye West. According to TMZ, the divorce is as “amicable as a divorce can be”, which is hard to believe considering this is a man who has been in a war with Taylor Swift for no reason whatsoever.

In true Kris Jenner fashion, both parties had to sign a prenup prior to their marriage, and apparently no one is contesting it now. Additionally, the couple plans to split legal and physical custody of their four children—with a plan in place to co-parent (whatever that means for KimYe).

The divorce documents, filed by Kim’s divorce lawyer and all-around badass, Laura Wasser doesn’t list a date of separation, but it’s listed as TBD instead. In case anyone is curious about the date, I checked my texts and according to when the group chat blew up at the initial divorce announcement, it was January 5th, 2021.

The devil works hard but Kris Jenner (or as Kanye refers to her, Kris Jong-Un) works harder. On Valentine’s Day, both Kourtney and Kendall confirmed their relationships by going Insta-official with Travis Barker and Devin Booker, respectively. Then, Kendall announced her new 818 tequila brand; and NOW, KimYe no more. I hope Kris can take a well-earned vacation soon.

As sad as it is for Kim, Kanye, and their children that they’re splitting it up, it’s not all awful news. Maybe North West will make them each a masterpiece for their new houses.
